About Us
Talein is an award-winning artist known for her angelic voice and explosive stage presence. She is the Youth Gospel Choice Awards Best Female Artist for 2008 and is setting the standard for the gospel music industry. It was evident at a young age that she was going to be a woman of purpose and destiny. Talein, born Kia Talein Anderson is a multi-talented woman on a mission to share her gifts and talents with the world. She is an entrepreneur, writer, songwriter, model, actress, gospel-recording artist, life empowerment coach, and mother.
Always in pursuit of her dream Talein was selected to be the lead female vocalist for Atlantic Starr and recorded the CD “Time” on Arista Records. She was blessed to work with award-winning songwriter Diane Warren one of the most prolific songwriters in the music industry. Diane has written hits for Celine Dion, Toni Braxton, and Whitney Houston just to name a few. Talein’s passion for music has been heard through out the US and abroad. In 1992, Talein gave her life to the Lord but still continued her lifestyle as a mainstream secular artist. After leaving the group Atlantic Starr 1993 she hit rock bottom depressed, despondent and broken. Now was the time to accept her call, follow Christ with her whole heart, and give her talents back to HIM. She has never looked back since then and in 2007 the birthing of her musical masterpiece entitled “Don’t Turn Your Back On God” was released on her independent label Angelic Vibe Music, Inc. This eclectic mixture of contemporary gospel songs mixed with hip-hop, neo soul, reggae and R&B undertones just scratches the surface of her versatility. The project is written by Talein and her mother La-Tina Smith. Make no mistake Talein’s versatility can bring you back to your roots with a hymn or take you to the throne room with praise and worship.
Talein's drive and passion to see the hearts of young women and women all over the world to walk in wholeness and completeness to become successful in achieve their divine destiny in life did not stop when she was reigning as Miss Black Maryland in 1992 and First Runner-Up Miss Black USA 1993. She allows her non-profit organization Divine LifeStyle to be that platform to develop and empower young ladies and women. "Divine LifeStyle was birthed out of a vision God gave me to be a healing balm and empowerment tool for others". Extremely passionate about mentoring young women, Talein discusses self-esteem, life choices, and is an advocate for Abstinence and HIV/AIDS education and so much more. Her song Abstinence is one way she uses her gift of song as a tool to reach people about saving yourself until marriage and other things we should abstain from such as drugs, violence, and alternative lifestyles in the Christian community and the world.
As an eloquent speaker and gifted writer for many years her talents prove again to inspire others to live a lifestyle that is pure, honest, encouraging and uplifting. God wanted her to truly reach the masses through every aspect of media and inspired her to start a radio broadcast online. Heating up the airwaves as the Producer/Radio Personality of the Divine LifeStyle Show with Talein, she allows the show to be a vehicle for independent artist to showcase their music and share their experiences through personal interviews and a Word from the Lord. After celebrating one year as a Radio Personality, Talein hosts and produces her Interactive internet broadcast show the “Divine LifeStyle Show with Talein”. The show features Talein as your personal life empowerment coach, which features guest experts, and people who have amazing stories. It's all about empowerment tools that will help to motivate, equip people to change their lives, and achieve purpose to follow their divine destiny.

Talein has been featured in gospel stage plays, jingles, voiceovers, newspapers, hair magazines, women's conferences, special services, concerts, radio and television, and more. Her first international television debut was on Candi Staton’s show “Say Yes” on Trinity Broadcasting Network. She is a well-rounded artist, writer, vocal arranger and savvy businesswoman. She is married to Apostle John F. Harris and a mother of 4 beautiful children. They are the continuing to pioneer in the Atlanta, GA area as well as in the US and abroad to bring the Glory and presence of the most high into all the earth.
